One of the greatest unsolved mystery of the TV industry has been that no one has really seen the Ugly Naked Guy in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. If you’re a fan of the series and have repeatedly watched all the seasons, you’d know that the man who lived across Monica‘s apartment, and the man whose apartment Ross finally buys, is a big deal in the show. Sadly, no one has ever seen the face (except Ross, who has to get naked and have brownies with the Ugly Naked Guy to get the apartment). That’s why when this brave journalist from Huffington Post went on a year-long quest to find the dude who played this iconic character, we couldn’t help but applaud his tenacity. From contacting every casting director from the show to e-mailing IMDb actors who have been wrongly credited as the Ugly Naked Guy, Todd Van Luling (the writer of the article) did it all. After researching for nearly a year, he FINALLY found his guy.
Yep, that’s Jon Haugen, the only one who has played the Ugly Naked Guy. Jon spoke about applying for the role through Central Casting for the first appearance. The makers later asked him to return for a scene with Ross.
