Based on the Nanavati murder case of 1959, Rustom tells the story of a Navel Commander who finds out his wife is in love with someone else, and then proceeds to murder said lover. The K. M. Nanavati v. State of Maharashtra case was a huge one and lead to the abolishment of jury trials – Nanavati was initially declared ‘not guilty’ by the jury, but that verdict was later dismissed by the Bombay High Court.
We’ve been looking forward to this film, and judging by the trailer, it should be a gripping one.
