Anushka Sharma is an absolute baller. She’s basking in the glory of her last release Sultan and is currently shooting in Punjab for her the much anticipated Philauri with Diljit Dosanjh. I met her recently on the sets of her new Nivea TVC. She looked stunning as she shot for Nivea’s new product, Nivea Protect & Care Deodorant and was absolutely wonderful when I met her.
Oh, and did I tell you her production company, Clean Slate Productions, also produced this Nivea ad.
Among other things, I congratulated her on the humongous success of Sultan and thanked her for not being just another heroine in just another male-dominated Bollywood movie.
She said:
It’s not because of any one film. That’s my attitude towards my work. I pick my films based on the scripts first and foremost. The character I’m playing obviously has to contribute to the film. It just can’t be for beauty. That’s what I’ve done with all my films and characters. This was the same thing. That’s what I was looking for in Sultan and I am so glad that I found it. I found such a strong role. Aarfa was an equal to Sultan and their love was of equals – so that was a great thing!
