Today Gucci did something super cool. The design house invited a number of artists from all over the world to take over their Snapchat account for an hour each and showcase how they collaborated with Gucci. While the artists creations have been shared on Instagram, the Snapchat video takeover is used by them to showcase the Ace sneaker – the product in question – who’s classic design serves as a canvas for customisation by Creative Director Alessandro Michele. That idea was extended to other artists who were asked to create 60 second films using the Ace sneaker as the star. These are some still shots from the videos:

Gucci has used social media in interesting ways in the past too. A while ago, artists were asked to imagine artwork using three of Gucci’s signature motifs – Gucci Blooms, Gucci Caleido and Gucci Tian called #GucciGram. This year, the concept has just moved from static to moving imagery. From stop motion to animation to basic video the means to the end are many. But the point is, go on to Snapchat and watch creativity unleash! Now! You have 24 hours.
