Very recently, Parineeti Chopra made a video for her friend Shahzaib Ali on his birthday. The video also featured Alia Bhatt and the two were seen wishing him. At one point Parineeti tells him to eat less and lose weight. When this video surfaced online, everyone on social media accused her of body shaming him. Well, even though Parineeti herself never commented on that controversy, her friend Shahzaib Ali did not like that his best friend was being sujected to such harsh criticism. So, he has now written an open letter defending her.
In the letter, he wrote how Parineeti would be the last person to shame someone because she has dealt with the issue herself – and what they share, is not something a third person should interfere in.
I find it hard to believe that people think friendship should be policed. I mean, if people hold such rigid views about what friendship should and shouldn’t look like… well, you should hear some of the jokes Parineeti and I share!
He ended the letter saying that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously and “sometimes it is appropriate and necessary to see things as they are, not what we would like them to be”.
