Shahid Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor and his pretty wife Mira Rajput became proud parents to a beautiful baby girl last night. Naturally, the actor is super ecstatic. Even on the professional front, he’s enjoying a high that he’s never experienced before. After wowing everyone with his mind-blowing performance in Haider, he once again left everyone awestruck with his act in his last release, Udta Punjab. Yes, he had a dud between these two outings – but though Shandaar wasn’t a great film, Sasha was nothing less than fabulous in it.

However, things haven’t always been this rosy for the actor. Despite being the son of an ace actor like Pankaj Kapur, Shahid had to experience a lot of lows during his days of struggle. During his recent interview with Hindustan Times, he opened up:

Everyone thinks that he is Pankaj Kapur’s son, so isko toh break mil gaya hoga (He must have got a break). But I have been rejected from 100 auditions. Sometimes, I didn’t have money to eat food or to even go to the auditions. I have lived that life, and I don’t like talking about it. But that is my reality.

He also shared:

My parents were actors, but they were not stars. So, they didn’t have any pull. Mujhe samajh mein nahi aata tha ki kisse milun, kya bolun ya kya karun (I couldn’t understand who to meet, what to say and what to do). Now when I look back, I feel like God has blessed me with this career, and I cannot let this opportunity go to waste. I don’t want to feel satisfied easily (laughs). It has been a 13-year-long wait to reach here. So, it will maybe take 13 years for me to feel relaxed.

You deserve every bit of the success and happiness coming your way, Shahid. And every bit of it is here to stay. 🙂
