2016 has been THE year of break-ups! We’ve lost so many seemingly strong couples this year, haven’t we? But then we looked back 10 years ago and realized there are so many *iconic* couples who are no longer together. Some of them looked like they’re going to be together forever (looking at you John and Bipasha) but sadly, things don’t work like that. Here’s a list of the couples we loved 10 years ago and lost soon after.
1) Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor
I know they’re very happy with their respective partners (Shahid is already a dad and Kareena is all set to become a mom) but they were really cute together.
2) John Abraham and Bipasha Basu
This still hurts.
3) Saif Ali Khan and Rosa Catalano
Before Kareena and after Amrita Singh, Saif Ali Khan was dating Rosa Catalano. The live-in relationship lasted for a couple of years before he started dating Kareena while shooting for Tashan.
4) Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan
See kids, this divorce is proof that fairytales don’t exist.
5) Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra
Pretty random, but yeah, before Priyanka Chopra conquered the world, she was dating Harman Baweja whose Bollywood career sadly didn’t take off.
6) Nihar Pandya and Deepika Padukone
Before Deepika made her Bollywood debut with 2007’s Om Shanti Om, she was dating fellow model Nihar Pandya. The two broke up by the time her movie released and she started dating Ranbir Kapoor.
7) Yuvraj Singh and Kim Sharma
Yuvraj and Kim were dating for quite a while before they broke-up as Yuvraj’s mom didn’t approve of Kim. Kim then married a businessman, Yuvraj is all set to tie the knot with Hazel Keech in December.
8) Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta
This break-up turned real ugly.
9) Aditya Pancholi and Kangana Ranaut
This relationship was marred with domestic abuse and extra-marital affair and a police complaint. Thank God they broke up!
10) Sanjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor
Sanjay and Karisma separated a while ago, but their divorce battle was extremely bitter.
11) Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif
Salman and Katrina are amicable exes. The actress then dated (and broke up with) Ranbir Kapoor and Salman is steady with Iulia Vantur, but the two are all set to shoot for the sequel of their hit film Ek Tha Tiger.
12) Kelly Dorjee and Lara Dutta
Lara and Kelly dated for a very long time before they ended their relationship. We really thought they’d last, but Lara then had a relationship with Dino Morea and after him dated and married Mahesh Bhupati.
