Humans and science have been involved in a love-hate relationship since centuries. We’ve created so much, in such little time, that sometimes we’re afraid of our own creation. Artificial Intelligence has evolved so much, that earlier versions of robots (and humans too) are going through somewhat of an identity crisis. Everyone agrees that AI is the future, but is the future as bright as we imagine it to be?

These 5 movies show what AI is capable of in the most gripping way ever. So for all the cool people, who really want to see a glimpse of the future and humanity, these films are a must-watch.

1) Ex Machina

This 2015 science fiction film stars Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikander, and it’s directed by Alex Garland. The story revolves around a programmer, a CEO of a software company and humanoid robot with a robotic body but a human-looking face. The CEO wants the programmer to test whether the robot is genuinely capable of thought and consciousness, and whether he can relate to her (it’s a female robot) despite knowing she is artificial. What happens next is pretty intense.

2) I, Robot

This Will Smith blockbuster has it all – a dystopian world, a robot army and kickass action. I, Robot is an entertainer which needs to be watched while having buttery popcorn (some of which might fall when you’re startled because of the film).

3) Chappie

Chappie is the story of a robot bought by the South African government to handle the increasing crime rate in the country, which is stolen by a bunch of thieves, who in turn, treat it like a fellow human being. Watch it for desi boy Dev Patel!

4) RoboCop

RoboCop is a 2014 American cyberpunk science fiction action film, which is doused with humour and social satire, who would have thought eh? It’s not your regular sci-fi movie, it’s much more!
