Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh
Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh

A lot has been said (and written) about the alleged cold war between Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, the male leads of Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s magnum opus, Padmavati. While Ranveer cleared his stance on the said enmity between them, Shahid was mum on the subject, until now. In an interview with Mid-day, the actor said:

I was surprised to see so much interest in the film and cast even before it had rolled. Well, we did not sit across a table, as reported. We were seated on chairs facing Sanjay sir, who was seated on a sofa. What others may have thought when I joined the cast, I don’t know, but sir told me he would not offer me a role that wasn’t worth my time.

Also, speaking about his alleged insecurity, Sasha told DNA:

A star will get the importance and the focus that they would on the basis of their stardom, right? What is there to be insecure about? I was on stage hosting when he got his debut award and I remember he was crying and it was a special moment for him. So I have kind of seen him grow in the last six years and I loved what he did in Bajirao Mastani.

So, all is well, it seems!
