The Age of Stupid
This looks amazing. Cited as one of the most important films of our time, Franny Armstrong’s acclaimed documentary “The Age of Stupid” has been selected to screen to a global audience beamed by satellite across the world at 7pm (CEST) on Tuesday September 22nd. This Special Digital Event will include a screening of the film plus highlights from the New York event the night before. The event has also just been confirmed as being an official part of UN Climate Week. The Premiere will be hosted by Kofi Annan, Gillian Anderson, the Oscar nominated film’s star Pete Postlethwaite and filmmakers Franny Armstrong (McLibel) and Lizzie Gillett in the presence of a host of A-list celebrities, leading climate activists and Heads of State arriving on the green carpet by boat, bike, rickshaw, chipfat car or skateboard to a solar-powered cinema tent in downtown Manhattan! Thanks to the Blue Frog we get to watch it for Free next Tuesday. I’ll be dissappointed if you don’t come :)
What’s it about?
THE AGE OF STUPID stars Pete Postlethwaite as an old man living in the devastated world of 2055, watching “archive” footage from 2008 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change while we had the chance? It has been described by the media and politicians alike as of vital importance and essential viewing to anyone who cares about the survival of our planet.
