Celebrity Spotting: Theatre Nuisance

Irla-fied

Annoying Mr. Irla

Since Mumbai is the city of dreams (and occasional nightmare) when it comes to celebrity spotting I hope you know you can keep me posted (anonymously if you like) if you happen to run into someone famous. I got this a few days ago from my mystery girl. :) Read more…

Fashion Week: Anita Dongre & Life in-between shows

Shamita Singha
Shamita Singha

Here’s my first look at Fashion Week as promised! I went for the 5:00pm Anita Dongre bridal collection show on Friday pleasantly surprised at how trendy and chic all the clothes were. (I also really liked the starry-eyed make up on the girls, must try that some time!) But I’m guessing you’re probably getting more than enough of that, so here’s a peak at all the lobby action between shows where the models hang, drink wine, smoke cigarettes (and refuse to pose face-first pre-makeup!) “Friends” with benefits?

facebook_1Facebook Friend

So here’s the thing, You know how I sometimes can’t help myself and take a dig at these random TV celebrity wannabes, well its not my fault if they come looking for me right? Poor Sharhaan Singh here has no idea how much trouble “making friendship” with me is going to get him into. :) For now I have just one question, does a direct message to me saying “..to knw abt my wokr and to get in tocuh with peopl do watch me in my shows on colorsn on zee b in tocuh and keep me posetd thaxn n take care…” qualify as provocation in the Page 3 department? This Amitabh Bachchan song (from the old Dostana) is suddenly playing in my head now,“…mere doston tum karo faisla, khata kiski hai kisko deh hum sazaa?*” Read more…

Imran Khan’s Radio Playlist (tracklist & audio)

bonesHere’s that playlist (go on, relive the footage)! Imran Khan hosted Pirate Radio on 94.3 Radio One on September 16th with MissMalini and since EVERYBODY wanted to know what those songs were here ya go. Your wish is my command as usual :) (FYI all the songs that are “starred” were requests or fillers.) And here’s another first on missmalini.com every-time you see the pink audio icon that means there’s something to listen to right there on the page! Like how you can hear all the “links” (thats the chat between songs) from Pirate Radio with Imran Khan and MissMalini right here, right now. By the way it’s kinda cool if you listen to the audio and then watch the video to see how we do it in the studio, well I think so anyway! Read more…

Imran Khan LIVE on Radio One with MissMalini (footage!)

Imran Khan and MissMalini

Imran Khan and MissMalini

exlusiveThere are very few words to describe what happened tonight in radio-land (so I’ll let the pictures & video do the talking…) I spent the last 3 hours co-hosting a LIVE radio show in Mumbai on 94.3 Radio One with the extremely awesome Imran Khan. Obviously I’ve had that girly crush on him since Jaane Tu… but tonight I got to spend three hours with a guy who’s totally passionate about English music; doesn’t mind talking about anything off the beaten track (the less cliche the better in fact) and is just a 100 percent interesting, (obviously cute), funny, friendly and basically a very REAL human being (not some fluffy film star, nope.) I’m OBVIOUSLY totally delighted to have met him, (So much so that I can’t seem to get a grip on those exclamation marks!) but DUDE the guy had zero DJ experience and was a TOTAL Pro. SOOOOoooooo Impressed. This is definitely going doing as one of the highlights of my life (and career!) Read about how it happened here and now feast your eyes on THIS!
Psst! Audio of the entire show coming soon on a blog near you and the videos are also up on my YouTube Channel :) Read more…

Hey Stupid, its that time!

The Age of Stupid

The Age of Stupid

This looks amazing. Cited as one of the most important films of our time, Franny Armstrong’s acclaimed documentary “The Age of Stupid” has been selected to screen to a global audience beamed by satellite across the world at 7pm (CEST) on Tuesday September 22nd. This Special Digital Event will include a screening of the film plus highlights from the New York event the night before.  The event has also just been confirmed as being an official part of UN Climate Week. The Premiere will be hosted by Kofi Annan, Gillian Anderson, the Oscar nominated film’s star Pete Postlethwaite and filmmakers Franny Armstrong (McLibel) and Lizzie Gillett in the presence of a host of A-list celebrities, leading climate activists and Heads of State arriving on the green carpet by boat, bike, rickshaw, chipfat car or skateboard to a solar-powered cinema tent in downtown Manhattan! Thanks to the Blue Frog we get to watch it for Free next Tuesday. I’ll be dissappointed if you don’t come :)

What’s it about?
THE AGE OF STUPID stars Pete Postlethwaite as an old man living in the devastated world of 2055, watching “archive” footage from 2008 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change while we had the chance?  It has been described by the media and politicians alike as of vital importance and essential viewing to anyone who cares about the survival of our planet.

Vampires and Dreamscapes: I Heart Twilight!

I know all the 14-year-olds are crazy about it but I don’t care ,so am I! I’m totally in LOVE with Twilight and have stayed up nights racing through the series dying to know what happens next (but also a little sad that when I finish book 4 its all over.) If you haven’t read a really great book in a while with an edgy love story and loads of vampire action you must read Twilight, then New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer. If you’re not much of a reader then watch the movies (for once they’ve actually recreated the magic of the book verbatim!) Twilight is already out and New Moon comes out this November! Read more…

Kylie. NOOOooooooooooo!

Oh Kylie, why didjya do it? I caught sight of this ridiculous song from the movie “Blue” on TV a few days ago and now I cringe every time I see it. Granted it might have grown on some of you (like fungus) but did you really really want to see Kylie jiggy-wiggy in a Bollywood movie quite like this?! With that stupid dance move to go with it? Somehow I also feel this whole gangsta arm-candy vibe and words like “jiggy” and “witchu” just work better out West. When Will Smith got jiggy with it, it worked, when the Pussycat Dolls promised to stick witchu I didn’t mind, hell even Janet Jackson’s gonna rock witchu tour was fine by me but this whole thing, and especially Lara Dutta doing it, makes my stomach turn! You? Read more…

Adam’s Birthday & Dance Ganesha

Adam Bedi and Sameera Reddy

Adam Bedi and Sameera Reddy

exlusiveNisha Harale Bedi very sweetly shared some party pictures from Adam Bedi’s 28th birthday get-together on September 10th at *Puro with me exclusively! She was laughing about how they spelt his name wrong on the cake (I mean that’s funny but how hard is it to spell Adam?!) Sameera Reddy, Ajay Balhara, Malkia Kapoor were around so joined them for the celebrations.
*Note to self: Must check out Puro bar & kitchen (Bandra, Mumbai)
