Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland

So I finally found my winter wonderland in snow-capped Canada. This was just one of the houses on the highway up!

I am happy to report that my hunt for Christmas present was a success in (would you believe it?) San Francisco. Even though temperatures remained well over freezing it was jingle bells all the way and I loved it. In fact I’m still managing to spot the occasional life size deer in someone’s front yard or a giant Santa swinging off a terrace. (Apparently a lot of the roaming Santa’s in New York got axed since those are the frill they drop first which is a pity but somehow the giant tree ornaments worked just as well for me….)

On my obligatory visit to Union Square (where they have opened up several stories of my favorite store Forever 21 by the way) it became pretty obvious that Christmas was over and the sales were in full swing. (Yes lucky me!) In fact I think there were about as many people as you would find on any given Sunday on Linking Road! Oh and not to miss the Hare Krishna’s going absolutely berserk with their chants of “Hare Ram Hare Ram Hare Krishna Hare Ram” where they turn the trams around on the cable car turntable on market street.
