On Wednesday night Madhu Trehan’s launched her intriguing book ” Prism me a lie tell me a truth – Tehelka as Metaphor” amid a slew of the well-heeled. Shankar and Devina Sharma, Adi Godrej, Bakul Patel, Kavita Khanna, Rashmi Uday Singh, Rahul Bose, Tasneem Mehta, Divya Thakore, Jamini Ahluwalia, Pravina & Jamal Meclai, Queenie Dhody, Madhoo Shah, Aarti and Kailash Surendranath, Remu and Naaz Zaveri, Dolly Thakore, Poonam Dhillon, Kitu Gidvani, Naina Lalkadwai, Vijay Kalantri, Ravi Krishnan and A.D. Singh.

Based on the infamous sting operation dubbed “Operation Westend,” which was conducted by the Tehelka website in the year 2001.The book is compiled after rigorous research and study in which Madhu Trehan unravels the deep roots of corruption in India that have spread to through the bureaucracy, political system, armed forces and various other facets of society. It is an authentic account of the Tehelka expose and the attempts to destroy Tehelka and its investors.

What followed was an open debate moderated by Tavleen Singh (a renowned columnist and political reporter)

Rashmi Uday Singh added that from her experience with the IAS. she had learnt that there are only two kinds of politicians- “Honest, and dishonest. The honest ones take a bribe and get the work done. The dishonest ones, take the bribe and sit back.”
