Kylie’s going Bollywood and will be dancing to the tunes of Farah Khan and wearing a Manish Malhotra creation in a Sanjay Dutt-Akshay Kumar underwater thriller (um whatever that means) titled “Blue.”
Unfortunately the pop star has strictly barred all visitors from the sets while she shoots at Film City. As a result, floor number 16 at Film City is almost like a fortress in fact, family members of the cast and crew are also not allowed on the sets when Kylie is shooting! Kylie has also refused to interact with the media. That’s a pity Kylie we don’t (all) bite.
Anyway from what I’ve heard the 40-year-old (and how hot is she 4 decades later) singer landed in India on February 26 and was received amid much fanfare and tight security at the Mumbai airport. Kylie and her crew are parked at the Renaissance Hotel, Mumbai and apparently whenever they get the munchies she calls the hotel chef Jose M. Ruiz and orders off the menu.
Kylie, who is here till March 8 is playing herself in “Blue” she has so far recorded two songs including the title track, which has been composed by multi-Oscar winner A. R. Rahman (of Slumdog Millionaire fame.) They’ve already recorded the song in her London studio and now she’s shooting the video for the film along with Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta. Katrina Kaif also stars in the film but unfortunately gets no screen time with Ms. Minogue.
Akshay Kumar meanwhile has declared himself her self-proclaimed city-guide without a Twinkle in his eye. (Sorry I couldn’t resist.)
FYI it may be recession time but film makers don’t hesitate to proudly add that this is slated to be the most expensive Bollywood action-film of all time shot on location in the Bahamas and Bangkok.
Eagle Eye: Kylie was spotted shopping off the streets in Bandra, Mumbai yesterday. But to most everyone on Linking Road she was probably just another foreginer with shades on.
