FYI this is where you can catch Nikhil D’Souza next week. Fight-Back’s new initiative “Music for Equality” a concert to raise awareness on gender equality. A cool concept that combines the arts with social messaging, organically. On September 10th (from 9.05pm-11.55pm) the band will play original material written by Nikhil, Arijit and Adrian at Blue Frog, Lower Parel, Mumbai.

The Idea

  • Rotract Club has helped to distribute around 800 Fight-Back posters in India as well as Bangladesh and Nepal
Tie-Ups/ Associations
  • Tied up with McDonalds and Cafe Coffee Day through DNS networks (they have screens all over India including all Railway stations, hangouts, etc) to spread awareness through their screens

Ground Activities
  • Wallet cards, sized like credit cards, have been designed by the Fight-Back team. These cards contain vital information for girls with important phone numbers across Maharashtra. Volunteers from Fight-Back and Rotract Club distribute these on periodic basis
  • Default cause of I-Rock 2008
  • As a part of the republic day activity, fight-back got over 400 schools from all over India, this equals to over 1 million children, to read the constitution of India.
  • “Women’s Labyrinth” and “Postcard to Pakistan” art installations at 2009 Kala Ghoda festival
  • Fight Back has initiated an activity against Female Foetecide and Indian Media Association (IMA) is supporting the activity
