Last night Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty hosted the opening  party for their nightclub ‘Royalty” in Bandra, Mumbai. I’ve gotta say the place is quite  impressive looking (in a very “Great Expectations” kinda way) although  pretty much brings back memories of the previous club there called  “Poison” in terms of the general layout. So they’ve changed the color of  the lights on the stairs, made the railing intricate (but NOT really functional, now walking down those stairs in heels can be considered an extreme sport) added a giant chandelier & antique lamps  to the main floor and thrown a massive gold lion head against one wall!
I’m just not crazy about the name “Royalty” it doesn’t quite roll off  the tongue as well as some of the other club names but I guess they were  going for the full set; you know how it is, cricket league called  Rajasthan Royals, night club called Royalty! Anyway, here are my  observations for the night!
Psst! I got lots of video footage and a few foggy pictures (damned smoke  machine) I’ll post the PR set as soon as they come in but for now here it is through MissMalini’s lens.

The Royal Invitation (designed by Ravish Kapoor)

Shilpa Shetty

Salman Khan

Kishen Mulchandani

The Lion Ken (lol sorry)

Tarana Raja Kapoor and Tanaz & Bakhtiar

Shilpa Shetty is in incredible shape and I think I’ve seen that dress before.
Filling a room with THAT much fake smoke has GOT to be a fire hazard.
The sparkler parade was fun (and weird, and long) but fun!
At some point Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty and Samita Shetty took to the stage and assured everyone in the house that “if you’re here then you are somebody” LOL well that’s comforting.
I  really love the fact that Shilpa also said, “this party’s going to cost us a bomb!” Keepin’ it real sistah, keepin’ it REAL!
Shamita Shetty has a REALLY high-pitched voice, like a chipmunk.
Pretty much the entire Bigg Boss 3 crew was in attendance bleh, I find Claudia Ciesla scary looking and automatically think “giant jungle woman”
Tanaaz & Bakhtiar
looked like they were dressed for a wedding (but then that invite could have thrown anyone off really, FYI Ravish Kapoor who designed it also does weddings.)
Salman Khan is starting to look better. I wonder what his secret is? He walked in, across the dance floor and out within 15 minutes but appeared to be having a good time. He was even actually pretty friendly when my buddy went up and said “Bhai, you’re a rockstar” he replied “Thank you” without punching him in the face, awww.
Expats will NEVER get what a big deal Salman Khan really is and barring the fact that they share the same temperament, “he’s like our George Clooney” is a terrible way to explain it.
Raj Kundra has a cute voice (and looks a lot better without the full beard!)
Kishen Mulchandani definitely wanted me to post his “strike-a-pose” picture.
If this becomes the Shetty sister’s party pad it could actually be pretty rocking!
