Aha! As promised I finally got the bottom of this designer delight spotted off the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week courtesy my twitter buddy @psingh400. The designer behind Mermaid’s Boutique, Miriam Strehlau lives and works in Goa.
What’s her secret? She prefers to use innovative materials, sustainable fabrics, handcrafted Indian textiles as well as vintage saris she picks from the local markets. The good news for us Mumbaikar’s is that we can pick up some of her stuff at Bombay Electric, 1 Reay House, B.E.S.T. Marg, Colaba (next to Taj Hotel).
