Washoku

A whole bunch of people have been telling me about this (thanks Juhi Pande for the info mailer) so I figured I’d spread the word. Dadar Catering College is hosting WASHOKU 4, a Japanese Street Fair from October 21st to 24th (7pm-11pm.) Here’s the dope, “Each year students of the final year present a food festival, based on various cuisines. Due to the overwhelming response received in the last 3 years, this year the students will again showcase the cuisine of Japan; which is one of the fastest growing global culture and cuisines and gaining popularity with foodies and gourmets of Mumbai.”
Psst! Be sure and book your entries in advance because space is limited! Tickets are 500rs each and redeemable against food preparations at the fair.

The institute has collaborated with maidoindia, which is in the business of “bringing Japan closer to India”, remember Nari’s tea ceremony/fashion preview? “Visitors can expect to come across various Japanese cultural aspects like tea ceremony, Origami, Japanese fortune teller, Ikebana, Kimono photo stall besides relishing sushi, Tempura, etc.” Maidoindia will be flying down Chef Shinya Saito – an internationally renowned Japanese chef, to hold classes at the IHM, to impart his knowledge and guidance to the students.
