Yes, that’s right. Yet another “Fashion Week” is taking place in Pune. Day 1 opened with Rakesh Agarwal with his ‘Diamonds are Forever’ collection (bring on the bling). Surily Goel was next with breezy Resort-wear. Mandira Wirk did a little bit of everything from dresses to saris and even some menswear. The day ended with Satya Paul’s Tarot inspired Collection.
Day 2 Kicked off with Designer Payal Singal showcasing her western-inspired bridal collection (loads of sequins there). The accessories show had my namesake Malini Agarwalla show her Lakme Fashion week collection again, along with Vijay Golecha. Nivedita Saboo’s Moroccan inspired collection with the addition of show stopper Raveena Tandon, was well received. Unfortunately for Vikram Phadnis, Malaika Arora Khan who was originally slotted as his show stopper had to be quickly replaced by Amrita Rao.
The final day of PFW had Pune’s very own Seema Singh and Deepak Shah show their collections. Deepak Shah launched his new men’s footwear line with actors Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff and had dancer Sandeep Soparkar end his show. Next up was Nandita Mahtani who had models sashay down the ramp in evening and resort wear that was embellished with sequins. Rounding out the week was Rocky S. who showcased his collection that drew inspiration from the modern yet traditional woman of India!
