The 56th Idea Filmfare Awards will be telecast on the 6th of February 2011 exclusively on Sony Entertainment Television.

Yash Raj Studios in Andheri came alive with the razzle dazzle of Bollywood last night. Undeniably over the years, Filmfare has become the most coveted awards amongst the Bollywood fraternity. With a slew of performances by the biggest names in filmdom, the annual Idea Filmfare Awards is a delightful extravaganza of glitz, glamour, excitement and entertainment. This year, the 56th Idea Filmfare Awards was hosted by the new kings of cool Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor and some undoubtedly stunning performances. Highlights included Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan’s Devdas and Dil To Paagal Hain nostalgia. Kareena Kapoor’s medley of songs from 3 Idiots, Golmaal 3, and Jab We Met. Priyanka Chopra with her tribute to Madhuri Dixit dancing to hits like Ek Do Teen, Choli Ke Peeche and Dola Re (looking pretty PC!) While Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh performed on a medley of songs from last year’s box office hit Band Bajaa Baraat. Celebrating 25 years in the film industry, Madhuri Dixit – I’m so glad she’s back in B-Town btw :) – was presented a special honour by Aishwariya Rai Bachchan; Yash Chopra and Shahrukh Khan honoured Bollywood icon, Amitabh Bachchan commemorating his 40 years of absolute dedication to the Indian film industry and The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to legendary singer Manna De.
Psst! You know that not all the performances are live right? They pre-record some the night before!
