The Grammy’s are always a place where fashion is adapted to the artist’s personality. As compared to other award shows, these celebs like to flaunt their eccentric/unique fashion sense. Therefore it was useless to really have a best dressed/worse dressed list, coz the lines would greatly blur. I mean we literally need a list for most crazy, where else do we put Lady Gaga? I did notice however, that these stars didn’t change fashion too much, and pretty much stole garments right off the runway. They found something on the catwalks that was like their music and wore it. Not a bad idea – for some.

Flarence in Givenchy (couture 2011)
Flarence in Givenchy (couture 2011)

I loved that Florence Welch (Florence and the Machine) decided to choose Givenchy’s couture collection. The colour is great on her, and the opaque and appliqué swan details are to die for. Also, there is a splash of colour at the back that compliments Florence’s feminine but quirky personality. Although I love the idea of big Viking anime inspired headpiece, I think Florence makes this dress work a whole lot better!

Kelly Osbourne in Tadashi Shoji
Kelly Osbourne in Tadashi Shoji

Kelly Osbourne was always the rebellious little rock star daughter; so it’s a bit of a surprise and a let down to see her go main stream. Although I love the Tadashi Shoji lilac dress with the frills, just wish Kelly would have put her own spin on it. Great choice in dress, the colour goes well with her skin tone and the purple sash with studded silver shoes is a nice touch. I’m not happy with the lack of personality with this one.

Nicole Kidman in Jean Paul Gaultier
Nicole Kidman in Jean Paul Gaultier

Nicole Kidman was a vision in Gaultier, after a somewhat dismal performance at other award shows it’s nice to see she finally found her style (stylist). The deep red offset by tan really gives her pale skin some life, not to mention the gorgeous neutral make up. Glad she didn’t opt for the scarf like the runway, she has amazing shoulder would be a shame to hide them!

Nicki Minaj in Givenchy
Nicki Minaj in Givenchy

Alright, so here’s one you either hate or love. I’m not fond of the red carpet or the runway look, but I must say Nicki Minaj kind of pulls it off. She has a lot more confidence in her outfit than the lanky model. Her in your face fierce personality really does add a little something to the head to toe leopard print outfit. Plus props to Nicki for pulling out fashion from 2007!

Rihanna in Jean Paul Gaultier

Alright Rihanna, I know you like to make a statement, but really I don’t need to see so much of you. This one should have stayed on the Runway, or at least been adapted to the red carpet. She does have a certain grace and a charm that does help the outfit, but I’m still not buying it.

Selena Gomez in J Mendel
Selena Gomez in J Mendel

Selena Gomez was such a surprise; she’s definitely leading the pack in terms of young singers/actress out there (for one she hasn’t had a DUI yet). This J Mendel dress looks great on her; it’s a nice transition dress from young girl to young lady. The make up is neutral with a bright pink lip, so in this season. Very fresh and very youthful.

Willow Smith is anything but cookie cutter. As far as I’m concerned with a voice like hers, she can continue to dress just the way she wants. There is some thought involved in the outfit, for one it’s all the same colour story, but I don’t quite understand the bag. The shoes are outrageous, I don’t know if I hate it or want to buy a pair (could always use the height).

To quote Star World – This is Sheer Cupidity! Sorry Armani, I love your clothes, but this is a bit too much. I know Katy Perry like to play dress up, but playing cupid on Valentines Day? The colours are great on her; just wish the whole cherub/cupid inspiration wasn’t so in your face! I much prefer the Stage outfit, it’s a tad bit tame, and it’s costume enough for a performance.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga

It wouldn’t be music’s big night without Lady Gaga now would it? In true Gaga style, she did turn heads, but this time she was hidden – in a large egg, carried by muscular men and one strange lady. Hmm I don’t claim to understand this one, but after the meat dress, I’ve pretty much been seen it all.

Great Make up
Great Make up

The Grammy’s had some of the best make up this award’s season. I want to try out all these looks; it’s fun, sexy and glamorous without being too in your face. Just perfect for spring/summer.

Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian

Trend Alert! Personally I wouldn’t go head to toe in sequins, but if you love to sparkle, then now is the time to do it. Seems like these celebs love their glitter, either short or maxi length it doesn’t matter, it’s got to scream bling!
