MissMalini’s Bombay Block Party #1: Blakc

Sue Castellino

Mumbai is actually bursting at the seams with unbelievable musical talent, especially in the indie music department so we thought we’d give you a taste 🙂 If you’ve seen the movie Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist you’ll know what we’re getting at. Impromptu jam sessions all over the city; at any time and any location. All you have to do, if you’d like to come join us, is follow @MissMalini on Twitter or Facebook.

The first band to kick us off on this musical journey was Blakc. The band now completing 4 years together, sat down with MissMalini on the Carter Road promenade (more pix here) and told her all about their music, likes/dislikes and off course sang some incredible tunes. They are a fun set of emo rockers, who even admitted to loving the Backstreet Boys (lol told ya we’d tell!) If you like what you saw in the video, then check them out at BlueFrog on the 20th of this month. MissMalini’s Bombay Block parties are an interactive way to get to know your bands better, we did manage to grab a small crowd of college kids, and hopefully next time we’ll have some of you join in. Stay Tuned!

If you are in a band and would like to be featured on MissMalini.com write to the boss missmalini@gmail.com 🙂 xoxo

P.S. I really miss doing Pirate Radio with live jams, consider this is my solution!
