This is the best news I’ve heard all day. As a fashion designer, you can’t help but be in awe of every design discipline that comes out of Japan. I’ve been a great follower of Japanese fashion from the time I could draw (3 years old?) from the greats like Issey Miyaki to Yohji Yamamoto, they all have a distinct sense of innovative design in their collections. This Lakmé Fashion Week, they have tied up with Tokyoeye, and are bringing down 8 designers from Japan. Three of these will be showcasing at the upcoming Summer/Resort 2011 fashion week. The designers that are coming down are Tamae hirokawa (Somarta), Motonari Ono (Motonari Ono) and Sara Arai (Araisara). I can’t wait for fashion week now, to see their designs on the runway. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch them and get a sound byte on their latest collections. Clearly I’m excited!
