Ajay Devgn and Rohitt Shetty have had an extremely successful track record. They have created the Golmaal franchise and given the industry Golmaal 3, one of 2010’s biggest hits. Thus, they’re back with a remake of superhit Tamil film ‘Singham‘ hoping to recreate huge box office numbers. The original film had Surya (Remember him from the Rakht Charitra series?) playing hero, who everyone knows has a huge fan following down South.

Rohitt Shetty has even cast Kajal in the role opposite Ajay. As much as we wish it were Ajay Devgn’s wife Kajol, it is actually Filmfare Best Actress award nominee Kajal Aggarwal. Her claim to fame is the role in Teleugu superhit Magadheera.

The film hit floors on 2nd March. Rohitt apparently conceptualized and designed the action himself. To execute the first sequence, he planned to blow up 20 cars. The scene was of a kidnapping set in a parking lot. Ajay and some gangsters chased each other amidst 200 cars of which 20 blew up. Produced by Reliance Pictures, the film is being shot in Goa and is slated for a July release.
