My very first Bollywood Awards and I might add hopefully my last! (I’m obviously not Bollywood Savy enough!) The Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Females (and males) awards were held at the Taj (Bandra) last Saturday. I realized that it’s true what the rumors say, only the winners and the presenters come for the awards, nobody comes for support! If it wasn’t for host Boman Irani the awards would have been extremely boring. His rendition of We are the World (imitating all the singers) was the highlight of the evening. There weren’t many controversial moments although Shahid Kapoor did make a little declaration to all the women in his life (past and present) which was quite entertaining especially since he took the stage after his ex Kareena Kapoor. The funniest moment of the night was when Ranveer Singh came up on stage in bright red high top shoes, and Boman said “I think you’ve stepped in paint”. To everyone’s amazement, Ranveer actually didn’t get the joke and looked around the stage to see what he stepped in!
From a fashion point of view, Kareena looked super stunning, in a nude sequined maxi halter dress. I want that dress but in a short knee length version! Anushka Sharma, why are you wearing black? You are young and very pretty, please brighten up your life with some fun dresses! The most awkward fashion statement was made by Ambika Anand (host of I’m too Sexy for My Shoes). Her orange jumpsuit was way too short in a very unflattering way, she is otherwise so well dressed, so it came as a surprise that she suddenly forgot her proportions! Best dressed of the night was Nandini Bhalla wearing Falguni & Shane Peacock.
On a side note – Imran Khan has a very charming presence (and soooo well dressed!) I couldn’t stop looking at him. Okay girls I now know what it’s like to be star struck.
