It’s almost time for Lakmé Fashion Week, just a few more days left, and that means the preparations have already begun and designers are wrapping up their collections. This is the stage that is most crucial to the runway show, the fittings. It’s a chance not only for the designer, but also for the stylists and make up artists to see the collection. Walking around the fitting rooms, you could tell that fashion frenzy had begun. Everybody was buzzing with excitement, and also with a little fatigue as the 3rd day of fittings rolled on. There is just so much to do behind the scenes at Fashion Week. It’s not just the designers and their clothes but rather a whole team of people organizing and doing their bit to make Fashion Week what it is. Unfortunately the only break during fashion week is lunch time, knowing I was being very rude cutting in on break time I quickly whipped out my MissMalini flip and started asking away my questions!
I asked stylist Gautam Kalra and Aki Narula for some style tips for those who can’t wrap their heads around summer trends. Also get a glimpse of model Acquin Paes (who is surprisingly shy), Liza Gordon and Surelee Joseph at lunch talking about their fitting experiences so far. I managed to catch up with the über enthusiastic (alright it was day 1) model Candice Pinto and got her take on all things fashion and fittings related. Check out the videos for a candid look at what happens behind the scenes at the fittings!
