They are slowly being known as India’s first luxury swimwear brand, design duo Shivan & Narresh clearly are here to stay. Their strong points are their uncanny sense of colour, that suits different skin tones and is always fresh and vibrant. If you think their clothes are just for skinny women, you are dead wrong. I’ve worn Shivan and Narresh since their first show and never felt fat or uncomfortable. Their style and more importantly their cuts are what makes the big difference. This season their collection was called Vanilla, and just like the word their garments had candy colours that you could imagine in an ice cream cone.
This collection is perfect for those who are building a wardrobe, there is a classic pant, classic jacket, wrap, jewellery and a swimsuit. It’s a collection that can be worn in a number of ways with anything in your closet, without looking repetitive. Personally I feel this collection was upstaged by their accessories, the chunky neck pieces and cute bow clutches are super chic and I dare say an essential for any fashionista. A stand-out look was the bikini sari, something any lounge lady would love. These boys have been trying to change the image of the sari from their first collection, so it’s nice to see they’re still at. I wonder what they’ll do next season – the pant sari? Oh and Just incase you were wondering, the story behind Narresh’s glasses? He has only one pair and yes one side is circular and the other is square. He got them from a lady in Venice who specializes in optical design. Mystery solved, well kind of I’ll keep the name of the lady a secret!
