Looking back at past pictures is super fun, especially when you realize how ridiculous you looked and the fashions you were guilty of sporting. Since today is April Fools Day, I decided to do a fun post on how foolish we can be sometimes, all in the name of fashion!
Low waist jeans were all the rage when I was a teenager, sadly amongst teens they still are. Sitting was such an embarrassment in low waist jeans, too much was on display and sometimes, not the prettiest sight! Yet, nothing is as bad as the Bikini Jean, Invented by Sanna’s Brazil Fashion (a Japanese brand). What were they thinking! I’m glad this trend didn’t catch on, I mean just how TACKY can one get?
Yes, I’m blaming the Spice Girls for reviving the Platform shoes from the 70s. I’ve always wanted to be taller, but this was a bit much. I remember girls fighting over getting the taller platform, how in love with the Spice Girls were we? Btw on a side note, Posh spice always wore great heels then and now.
The 80s had many fashion faux pas, leg warmers definitely one of them. Especially in India, where we don’t wear leg warmers to dance class (we have bells around our ankles!) and… It’s too hot as it is. Lets hope this trend doesn’t see a revival.
Why? Why? WHY? Diamonds, gold and silver are for jewellery, not for your teeth. Sometimes I just don’t get it, this is a definite low point for fashion.
I love my heels and would probably cut off a toe to fit into some of them, but even I have to draw the line somewhere. Ballet dancers can tell you how difficult it is to wear ballet flats, so who had the bright idea to add a heel to it? Painful and no balance at all – not a good combination.
I don’t know what is the bigger issue, the pants being worn so low or seeing soooo much underwear. Okay it’s both, I don’t want your pants dropping to the ground and I don’t want to see your underwear, especially if I just met you. Whats wrong with jeans covering your underwear? I always thought that was the best fashion statement, right ladies?
MissMalini says: Remember this video that was the rage on YouTube for a while? Lol. Sue I love this post! xoxo
