Grazia organized a very intimate sit-down brunch with Carla Fendi at the Four Seasons recently. (She’s fashion royalty in case you need to catch up on the Fendi story.) I had a wonderful time catching up with Narendra Kumar and the Four Seasons GM Andrew Harrison who told me fantastic travel stories and introduced me to liquid nitrogen sorbet. (Did you know that a drop of that stuff can sear a hole right through your hand? I mean I like my ice-cream fresh but not THAT much lol!) Oh and my favorite conversation was with Prerna Goel who was telling Tina Tahilliani how her daughter had commented on her shorts before she left the house (promoting her to wrap a shawl around herself for the car ride) saying, “I bet your mother would not have let you leave the house like that.” Lol!
Carla Fendi herself was delightfully unassuming and aside from a well-tackled language barrier courtesy her translator Erica, seemed extremely warm and friendly. I also met the Italian Consul General’s charming wife who shared her love of old movies, travel, Indian culture and Hindi lessons in a brilliant Italian accent! For an afternoon I seriously felt like a lady of leisure (that is until I realized at 2pm that it was time to step away from my wine glass and hustle back to business!) Ah well 🙂
