Neeru Kumar
Waist emphasis, Interesting colours, Cottons, silks, Vibrant red dresses, Earthy.
A lot of chic dresses and crop jackets for the winter. Easy volume in skirts and dresses will make it a comfortable winter. I loved the blended wool and cashmere dresses and sweaters. More pix here. A great strong beginning to WIFW.
Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta

Rehane
Canvas striped fabric, Vibrant, Short, Loud, Cute dresses, Lace crochet detailing. Not Autumn/Winter
A lot of great dresses for the summer spirited girl. But wait isn’t this supped to be Autumn/Winter? Well Rehane did a really high energy spring summer collection. Or maybe it was an Autumn Winter collection for Goa.

Loose silhouettes, Slouchy tops, wrap kurtis, reversible clothing, woolen stoles.
Lots of muted colours with pops of bright splashes. Volume was intricately inserted in to panels by godet and cowls. I loved the Shawl Collar jackets, perfect for the mild Indian Winters. Interestingly the jackets appeared to be reversible.

Geisha Design by Paras & Shalini
Crochet, Georgette, Peculiar Knitted Stole, Miss-matched textures and colours, Lots of detailing.
There was a lot to look at in this collection; every garment was overly laden with details. Had it been looked at with an editing eye it could have turned out a lot stronger.

Monapali
Rajasthan quilted embroidery, Cute half sock shoes, Hippie/homeless chic, Goa Harem pants?
Her Indian wear was a lot stronger than their western wear. The harem pants and smocked tube top was a bit passé and honestly can be seen all over Goa. On a plus side the colours were great for a winter collection, however the actual garments were more Spring/Resort.

Pankaj & Nidhi
Graphic, Cubism, Basket weave, Structured Jackets, Futuristic elements, Great Shorts, Leather detailing.
Pankaj and Nidhi put on a great show with an exiting range of strong and flowy silhouettes. Their dresses were fluid teamed with structured and textured jackets. Their colours were neon on a base of white, grey and black. A collection that focuses on a futurist graphic aesthetic.

Rishta by Arjun
Jackets, Detailing, Silhouettes, Quality, Satins, Tweeds, Coats, Prominent piping.
The best show thus far with some incredible coats. One in particular was a reverse tailcoat with a floor length front and hip length back. His cuts and play with fabric emerged in some captivating detailing in garments; for example the circular cape paneling in a jacket or the circular pocket on a coat. Finally an Autumn/Winter Collection!

Varun Bahl
Blacks, Sequins, Sharp tailoring, Layers, Great trenches, Lace Stockings, Strong shouldered sleeves.
A sea of blacks on blacks, with a heavy focus on layering that was Varun Bahl vision for winter. His collection had a lot to play around with; each look had different garments put together to make up the Bahl woman. I loved the one Multi Layer lapel trench, intriguing and utilitarian at the same time.

Tarun Tahiliani
Oriental Inspired, Somber colours, Waist emphases, Concept Saris, Net Lehenga.
In true Tahiliani style he offered different looks for his different woman, the focus being the waistline. Lots of great pants with Chinese embroidered fastening used as decoration on the seams. The best look had a little embroidered long sleeve bolero a long with a semi precious stone belt.
