In true Ritu Kumar Label style, there were lots of printed jerseys and silks. I loved the hooded capes and jackets; a sort of desi red riding hood. The colours were warm in the deep reds and rusts. It offers women comfortable and fashionable daily wear with a contemporary Indian edge. On a side note, lots of great shoes and bags, very ethnic chic.
The collection was very modern with focus on the body but without accentuating it, like the press note said, anti fit silhouettes. Personally the long velvet coats with shawl collars gave the collection a stately feel. The aluminum ikkats were a bit too bling for my taste, yet the leather sequins dresses has a great matt shine to them. A strong collection but one for the fashionistas, maybe not to everyone’s tastes.
