Wedding Photographer of the Year face-off
Wedding Photographer of the Year Awards face-off

How many times have you been to a wedding and the photographer has snapped a picture of you while eating? You wish you could take the moment back but it’s going to be etched in the wedding album forever. Better photography magazine editor, K. Madhavan Pillai explained to me the importance of a wedding photographer. Even though the wedding photographer’s pictures go into an album that is viewed for generations, he is rarely remembered. Better Photography started the Wedding Photographer of the Year Awards in 2010 to recognize these photographers. This is the second edition. And I was at the final face-off. There were so many cameras everywhere! Basically, hopefuls from around the country sent in their entries. For the last six months, they’ve been judged and six have made it to the finals. At the Wedding Cafe and Lounge, they had 30 minutes each to shoot a couple and make pretty pictures. The winner will be announced tonight and he will have excelled in six categories of wedding photography, namely, bridal portraiture, couple portraiture, family and friends, emotions, behind the scenes and photo series on a single wedding. MissMalini and MissMalini.com winner Divya Gupta Agnani are attending tonight and they’re going to fill you in on all the action LIVE @MissMalini on Twitter!
