The Gitanjali Group and Kolkata Knight Riders celebrated their alliance wedding style. There was a stage, pandal, lights, band, baaja and baaraatis. A priest even chanted holy mantras and blessed the golden helmets as symbols of prosperity and luck for both the parties. Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) arrived with his team adorned in safas and tikkas. Nishit Mehta, President of Gitanjali Group presented Shah Rukh Khan and the team a golden helmet each as a token of good luck and good will for IPL season 4. The helmet is supposed to represent the fire deity Agni who is a binding force and the primary witness at a marriage. Shah Rukh Khan was quite excited, “I am very happy to have Gitanjali Lifestyle join the KKR family. On behalf of the team, I would like to thank our partners for these wonderful golden helmets that symbolise the fire we have, to prove ourselves this year. I hope that their faith in the team will further boost the team’s confidence and help us continue our winning spree at IPL 4”.
In keeping with the wedding theme, Abhishek Dutta showcased his summer bridal collection. The collection uses Bengal weaves with antique zardosi embroidery. Appliqués and threadwork define the look. Ivory, tomato reds, sunset yellow and parrot green are the key colours, while the garments are embellished with Swarovski crystals and antique dapkas and kashap.
