What is commendable is that she has managed to create a high quality range of cosmetics at
unbelievably affordable prices
. I love the gal for believing that it is possible to create a budget range of cosmetics accessible to everyone at the right price. The inspiration behind the collection is Salma’s grandmother who died at the age of 96 without as much as a wrinkle on her face (wow). She was a cosmetologist who worked with Vichy laboratories. She advocated age-old formulations from the Native American and Mayan tradition and believed they could do wonders for the skin. At a press meet announcing the launch of the range at CVS stores across America, Salma said that her mum and other relatives had the most flawless skin ever.
Salma, a beauty junkie herself is against the use of needles and cosmetic surgery to achieve youthfulness. She urges women to use products obtained from nature diligently and swears by the results. One of the family’s best kept secrets is an ingredient called tepezcohuite, a tree bark native to southern Mexico and Brazil that regenerates red blood cells acting as an anti aging agent. She also shared other beauty secrets saying, “You know how if you burn the stone of the mamey fruit and rub it on your eyelashes it makes them grow? Salma sure seems to have figured out the secret to beautiful skin. Her beauty line is expected to make $35 million in its first year alone. We are waiting for these wondrous little potions to hit the Indian market, so we can test their hotness quotient. Sounds desirable huh?
