Ashton Kutcher returns to television as he joins the cast of the hit sitcom Two and a Half Men. After Charlie Sheen went on a media rampage and was fired from the show in March, the producers have been working overtime to find a replacement. Before the news was officially confirmed on Friday, the witty Kutcher dropped a hint by asking his 6.7 million Twitter followers what the square root of 6.5 is. (The answer being 2.5) Sheen, who has continuously expressed desire to be back on the show lashed out at producer Chuck Lorre in a written statement, “Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB. Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.”
Hasta La Vista, Baby! After 25 years of marriage Arnold Schwarzenegger, 63 and Maria Shriver 55 announced their separation this past week. While the reason behind the split hasn’t been disclosed, many close to the couple believe they’ve grown apart in the last few years particularly since Schwarzenegger became the governor of California. In a joint statement they announced “This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion, and prayer, we came to this decision together.” Shriver has stood by Schwarzenegger through all his cheating scandals and his election campaigns, they also have 4 children.
Whitney Houston and Matthew Perry both announced their return to rehab. While Whitney has a history of alcohol and drug addiction, her reps also confirmed that her 18 year old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who was recently involved in a cocaine scandal, has also joined her mother in rehab! This is the third time Perry will be entering rehab but he seems to be taking it lightly as he told TMZ “I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery… Please enjoy making fun of me on the World Wide Web.” As expected, due to Perry’s trip to rehab his new show Mr.Sunshine has been canceled.
It’s a boy…and a girl! Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon welcomed their twins last Saturday. Leave it to Mariah to name her son Moroccan Scott, after her NYC apartment and her daughter Monroe, in honour of Marilyn Monroe. I’m sure we can expect to see pictures of the celebrity babies very soon!
Remember Princess Beatrice’s outrageous hat from the Royal Wedding? Well, her mother Sarah Ferguson announced on Oprah this week that Beatrice will be putting the hat up on eBay and the proceeds from the sale will be split between UNICEF UK and Children in Crisis. The current bid on the hat is already at $16,532, the auction ends May 22nd. While we don’t like her hat, we love that she’s getting rid of it for charity!
