First Y films (a youthful movie wing of Yash Raj) came up with Luv Ka The End and announced Virus Diwan and Mujhse Fraandship Karoge (eeks). And now, it is Shahrukh Khan’s turn to cash in on the youth obsession. His production house, Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Eros Entertainment is all set to take you back to the good old days of youth with Always Kabhi Kabhi, a movie on the crazy but fun teenage school years. If the previews are anything to go by, it looks very promising and way more real and meaningful than your average teenybopper cootchie coo flick. The coming of age movie is directed by Roshan Abbas. The cast includes Giselli Monteiro, who had to finally learn Hindi for this one (she barely had stuff to say in Love Aaj Kal). It also has newbies Ali Fazal and Satyajeet Dubey (looking super cute in uniforms) and Zoa Morani. There is a huge supporting cast of well known actors like Satish Shah, Lilette Dubey, Navneet Nishan, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Mukesh Tiwari and Aakash Khurana.

The movie chronicles the lives of four friends in a school in Delhi and the previews took me down memory lane for sure. I am starting to love the title track of the movie as well, a refreshing song by Pritam.

I found the previews exciting and totally adorable as the movie has real school kids acting in it as well which makes it all seem believable. There’s also this yummy item song with SRK in it. The  movie’s out this June so we’re going to wait to find out if the earnestness of the story evokes nostalgia and takes you back in time to your first crush or your last day at school.
