The best way to experience a city is to meet the people, eat the food and search for the closest H&M (yes, I’m obsessed with this store). So, I head to Baltimore to meet a friend from high school and spend a week with her and experience a new city. Although, I was warned about how unsafe it was, I must say the Charm City has grown on me. Stay tuned as I’m heading to NYC soon and they’ll be plenty more to show from there.

My favourite foods so far

I love my food and there is nothing better than knowing people who have eaten at the yummiest restaurants. If you come to Baltimore try a place called Miss. Sherly’s, a southern style restaurant with a brunch vibe. I decided to have the apple-honey smoked bacon and avocado sandwich (too yum and gone in seconds hence – no photo), but the others on the table had what you see in the picture above. Another must try is Iggie, a pizza place where you can bring your own booze and your pets for lunch or dinner. Every bite of these pizzas was a step to taste bud heaven!

Anchors Away

Batimore Harbour

The harbor area in Baltimore has a great vibe with a mini amphitheater where anyone can come perform. My favourite attractions were the Ships that were anchored (The Constellation and a Coast Guard Ship). Also in that area is my favourite high street shopping retail therapy – H&M. I wrecked up quite a bill in under 35mins, yikes!!

Being graduation season in the U.S there were a lot of parties, one such was a waffle and champagne party in a quaint town house. I loved the exposed wooden beams, dogs in their baskets and interesting art, just some of the great features of the house. The best part of the party was the toast game, every time a bottle of champagne was opened the hostess would appoint someone the toast master, and they would have to make a toast. A great game especially for a sort of ‘good bye/end of year’ party.

Although there are many hot boys walking around I only had the nerve to take a picture the cute DJ (who played Bollywood songs) at the John Hopkins Formal. Yes ladies, you can admire. Also I’m kind of digging the tie tucked into the button stand, don’t you? I love Gelato and this place Pitango had some of the best. I had the Orange Dark Chocolate and Cantaloupe (YUMMM!) Lastly, walking back home I saw this country bar and thought the name of it was hilarious!
