Fahad Samar: “This film is an homage to the Narmada and the idea  is to do a  series of films on all the major rivers of India like the  Ganga,  Hooghly, Cauvery, etc. to educate people on the need to keep our  rivers  clean. In light of the recent death of Swami Nigamanand who  sacrificed  his life to create awareness about the pollution of the  Ganga, this  film will hopefully find greater resonance with the public.”

Fahad Samar (the film director) is one of my favorite people on the Page 3 circuit. He’s funny, friendly and generally makes very astute (and hilarious) observations. Also, clearly he cares about stuff. Check out this 60 second Public Service film he’s made on River Pollution with Pandit Jasraj, the legend of Indian classical music. We really should take the plunge.
