Boardwalk Empire

If you’re a fan of period dramas and mafia shows like Mad Men and The Sopranos, then it’s time you caught up with the latest hit series from HBO – Boardwalk Empire. Created by Terrence Winter, the man behind The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire takes place in Atlantic City during the time of prohibition in the 1920s. Costing $18 million, the pilot episode, directed by the one and only Martin Scorsese (also an executive producer of the show) was the most expensive episode shot in TV history. The show follows the life of a political figure/semi-gangster named Enoch “Nucky” Thompson, played by Steve Buscemi. Earlier this year, the show walked away with the Golden Globe award for Best Dramatic Series, while Buscemi won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series.

Tune into HBO this Sunday at 9pm to watch Boardwalk Empire.
