Like Ranjit said, I was so utterly disappointed with my Saturday night (barring the late night game of Kings that we ended up playing back at home) that I asked him to do a blog post on tips to throwing an awful party (cos let’s face it, it’s hard to get it THIS wrong too!) The one party in particular that I have to call out for poor form, was in celebration of Marie Claire’s 5 Year Anniversary and I seriously felt like we (along with some Page 3 heavy-weights like Anil Chopra, Vikram Raizada, Ashish Raheja and Nachiket Barve) were being punked! And *sob* I wasted my new H&M dress! Ugh.

What Went Wrong…

1. The entrance was through the buffet. What? Why?
2. There was no DJ, just a 30 second semi-house beat on loop (with various pauses and loads of distortion)
3. The bartenders were high. (Pun intended!) Not only was it nearly impossible to get a drink, once you did you wish you hadn’t!
4. The whole set up had a call-center after party conference vibe.
5. Pièce de résistance: I’m told one of the girls from the magazine revealed that this was in fact a much better turn out than last year. Last year they had been calling people to tell them not to come half way through the night! (Now I’m almost sadistically inclined to go next year just to see what happens? Lol.)
