I think everyone by now has seen the video Run the World (Girls) by Beyoncé. Although the song tends to get a bit repetitive and the melody, annoying after a while, it’s the singer herself that stands out. She’s dripping in the best of fashions by designers that are not always associated with hip/hop and R&B singers. Here is the run down of some of the stunning haute couture and ready to wear creations she is wearing.
The Video – Just in case you missed it!
Beyoncé in Alexander McQueen
Beyoncé is in an Alexander McQueen dress from the legendary fall 2010 R-T-W collection. The boots are Alexander McQueen again, the grinling gibbons gold heeled thigh-high show black boots.
Beyoncé in Gareth Pugh and Laruicci
The dress is from Gareth Pugh Fall 2011 R-T-W collection, seriously cannot believe is ready-to-wear and not couture, seems like these garments would take a millennium to make. The Shoes are also Gareth Pugh, Starship Enterprise boots (love the name!) The nails/rings are Laruicci, this brand has been worn by many starlets like Kim Kardashian, Kesha and even Rihanna.
Beyoncé in Norma Kamali and Alexander Wang
The stylist decided to do two Norma Kamali looks, she’s a favourite with Beyoncé as she really knows how to show off a woman’s curves. Beyoncé wears Norma’s fringe shorts from the Fringe Collection, along with Alexander Wang Heels (they look modified, guessing they’ve been shortened to make dancing easy) Later inthe video Beyoncé sexes it up with the Aztec Poly Cut out bodysuit from the Norma Kamali Poly Cut out collection.
Beyoncé in Emilio Pucci and Sergio Rossi
I”m so glad that the Emilio Pucci dress got slashed at the sides, that the stylist minimised the plunging neck line, it looks so much more hotter with the adjustments. I love me a pair of knee high gladiator boots and no one does shoes quite like Sergio Rossi, these boots are stunning!!
Another Stunning dress on Beyoncé, again from the Emilio Pucci Fall 2011 collection, I love the edgy slit on the bodice and the thigh, it’s the perfect show of skin without being too over bearing. I also like the contrast of the sequinned and matt fabric, it makes the entire look more dramatic.
Beyoncé in Jean Paul Gaultier
OMG, I DIE! How gorgeous does Beyonce look in Jean Paul Gaultier, looking better and working it better than the runway model she totally pulls off this look. The dress is from his Spring 2011 Couture Line. I love the strength, anger and power radiating off this one look, it was THE fashion moment of the song.
Beyoncé in Givenchy
I’m going to say this now, Beyoncé looks amazing in all the high fashion garments especially couture. The fashion industry must realise now that curvy women look crazy good, in fact better in clothes than most skinny models. That aside, Beyoncé is wearing Givenchy (my favourite design house at the moment) Spring Summer 2011 Ready-To-Wear.
