I’m not sure whether it’s the monsoon or if people are feeling particularly fed up with fashion. I’m going to hope it’s the first reason, because of late, our party folks have been missing their fashion marks. I understand Mumbai right now is all dull and sticky, not to forget flooded – valid reasons not to wear your Jimmy Choos, but fashion isn’t about wearing designer now is it? There were a few silver lines with some of the younger party goers bringing out cute florals and bright colours. Over all however, Mumbai’s Glitterati need to break out the big guns! Check out some of the outfits at recent event in Mumbai and judge for yourself!

HIT: Shazhan Padamse

This girl always knows how to dress her age and keep it cute. I love that she is in a floral print with just a burst of colour with her red nails and shoes.

HIT: Nishka Lulla

Nishka Lulla went all out in this bright yellow and why not, the cloudy, dull weather need not reflect in our clothes! I like the slight opaque sleeves, it gives this classic silhouette a twist. It seems everybody (but me) now days has an Alexander McQueen clutch, In this case it ties the look together and ups the fashion quotient.

Not really sure where to begin with this one, head down maybe? It’s a look that’s just not working, I’m not really sure what she was thinking when she shopped in her closet. The awkward placement of the print and cords on this tunic/dress along with the bright fuchsia shoes and nails are a abysmal. Whoa, didn’t know I could be that harsh!

HIT/MISS: Rahul Bose

Rahul played it safe with a shirt and trousers in dull grey and black. Would have been nice to see a hint of colour, maybe different shoes, or something to lift this outfit a bit. Although, with all that being said, he still manages to look dapper (but a little tired).

HUGE MISS: Anu Agarwal

Alright, need I say more? Isn’t a picture worth more than a 1000 words? I’M sure she’s just fed up with these wet monsoons, but c’mon a little effort please?! Also doesn’t the lady in the corner of the picture look like she’s a bit too inspired by Rihanna, (red, short hair with side swept bangs?)
