Shaina NC: “I am overwhelmed with the immeasurable support children suffering from cancer have got today. A heartfelt thank-you to Pidilite Industries and everyone who walked the ramp to make a difference.”

Manish Malhotra: “For 6 years the label has been primarily into Indian contemporary evening wear, this year we’ve have taken it upon ourselves to promote Indian traditional crafts such as Chikankari and Kashmiri. With a more responsible approach to the year it gives me immense pleasure to be part of this worthy cause which not only raises funds for children afflicted with cancer but also, celebrates fashion.”

The uber chic fashion extravaganza saw a lot of well known faces from the film fraternity, industrialists and achievers from different walks of life walking down the ramp. Nita Ambani and Praful Patel were the Guests of Honour for the evening. Kajol looked stunning in a saree (Impressive work losing all that extra weight post her second baby!)

The show was also a celebration of the achievements of  all the people from different walks of life who walked the ramp. It was a recognition of their contribution to society.

Some of the achievers who walked the ramp for Shaina NC and Manish were Vidya Malvade, Divya Dutta, Farah Aqeel Khan, Shweta Kawatra, Tisca Chopra, Lilette Dubey ( looking sensuous as ever in a Shaina NC saree),  Ira Dubey, Sheetal Mafatlal, Riya Sen, Poorna Patel, Mamta Dalal, Leena Mogre, Rashmi Desai, Shama Sikander, Simone Singh, Chaya Momaya and Zeba Kohli.

The men on the ramp like Ronit Roy, Sameer Dattani, Abhijit Sarkar, Bikram Saluja, Manav Gohil were hotness personified. The showstopper, Vivek Oberoi (he’s also the Brand Ambassador for Cancer Patients Aid Association)  looked dapper as well.

I was totally in love with  DJ Megha Kawale’s awesome live music for the show. I particularly loved Shaina NC’s collection of sarees ( so bling but a lot of fun) And the way in which the Saree was draped so imaginatively on each celebrity was pretty impressive.

If you were there, you’d just be alarmed by the sheer number of people at the show. There was like a massive turnout which led to a few rather ugly battles between members of the audience for a better view of the stage.

Also, there were like multiple television screens installed for all those poor souls right at the back (Can you picture how huge it was now?) The junta was just there to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars and there they were staring really hard into these TV screens!

Y. K. Sapru, the Founder Chairman  of the Cancer Patients Aid Association spoke about blood cancer or leukemia in children. Cancer is one of the biggest killers in India and 95% of its patients cannot afford treatment.

It was heartening to see people walking the ramp and coming out in such large numbers for the care and rehabilitation of Cancer Patients. Let’s hope that the efforts of the people involved in this help in bringing a smile to some of these people.
