Nagesh Kukunoor is back with his favorite leading lady, Ayesha Takia. The director who was disappointed with the fate of his last few films, Aashayein, 8×10 Tasveer and Bombay to Bangkok is now making a love story with Rannvijay Singh and Ayesha Takia.
The film titled, Mod is based on a Taiwanese film called Keeping Watch. The producers of Mod have even bought the rights to this movie. Ayesha Takia was last seen in Wanted with Salman Khan and though the movie did really well the girls in Mr. Khan’s movies almost never have much to say or do. Rannvijay Singh has had to deal with the disastrous response to his last flick, Action Replayy with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aksay Kumar.
The pairing of the two sounds quite unusual but cute. Mod has already completed one major schedule of shooting in Ooty (with Ms. Takia tweeting about the awesome weather all the time) and is all set to release in September! Personally, I loved Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dor and it was also one of Ayesha’s best performances (and the only one sans makeup). So, if Mod is even able to recreate half the magic of Dor, we say bring it on!
