Philip Treacy, if the name doesn’t sound familiar, you’ve obviously been locked up in the basement somewhere. He’s the star’s and designer’s go to man for all things hats. Lady Gaga uses him for all her red carpet and stage performances, so does Sarah Jessica Parker and the late Isabella Blow. Yet, it’s not just these fashion forward ladies who wear his creations, his biggest display of work this year was at the Royal Wedding. He’s also Duchess Catherine’s (Duchess of Cambridge aka Kate Middleton), favourite hat designer, and she’s been sporting him at many events. If you still don’t know who I’m talking about, I’ll have to do some more name dropping. Alexander McQueen used Philip’s genius on his runway shows, remember the butterfly head piece or the bird hat?
