Dressed in an off-the-rack purple churidar suit with colourful striped accents, actress Gracy Singh arrived at a suburban lounge for the music release of her new film Milta Hai Chance By Chance.
For at least an hour before her arrival, our MissMalini team of Dhruvi and Sharadiya (who have shot the accompanying video) were scouting high and low for familiar celebrity faces in the crowd. But there were none! The place was over-run with non-faces, some of whom posed and preened like they were super-stars.
What actually kept us going were the fabulous nibbles doing the rounds. Being die-hard foodies, we kept our spirits high with the lovely Thai fish, veg hariyali kababs and mutton kababs.
When the event finally kicked-off, the three of us wished we hadn’t braved the monsoons to attend it, and were instead, tucked up at home with some great pizza and a rom-com to watch on DVD.
For starters, the the emcee of the evening decided to break-out into shayaris to entertain (????) the crowd…. but given the kind of audience he had, they considered him a huge success. And if that was not bad enough, an item girl called Divya Dwivedi decided to perform on stage in a gown that showed thunder-thighs any self-respecting woman would want to hide.
After all the tamasha was over, actor Gary Richardson walked in with his friends. He was the only other face we knew at the event!
