I’m quite nostalgic while writing this post. It takes me back almost a decade when my family had set out to make one of their most ambitious projects. Incidentally, the same film would mark Priyanka Chopra‘s debut. Of course, she did a great job and thanks to her other release Andaaz even bagged the Filmfare Best Debut Female Award the same year. Since then, there has been no looking back for her. She has only grown from strength to strength. So, we at MissMalini.com wish PC a happy happy birthday and celebrate some of her best on-screen moments. You go girl!

One of Priyanka’s most memorable performances has to be her role of Sonia in Aitraaz. The two shades of her character really tapped her acting potential. The range of expression, demeanor and diction she brought to the character earned her the Filmfare Best Villain Award.

If you’re speaking of Priyanka’s best performances, you have to dedicate a fair share to Fashion. While her portrayal of a high fashion model brought both positive critical reception and box office success her way, it was the National Film Award for Best Actress that was the cherry on top.

When Priyanka Chopra wasn’t playing intense villainous roles or emulating high fashion models, she was charming everyone with her Desi Girl avatar in Dostana. She played Neha, a character so appealing that the main leads were willing to play faux gay in the film. Good going Desi Girl.

Priyanka’s portrayal of Sweety in Kaminey has to be one of my favourites. She actually got into the skin of the character and embraced her role. Taking a non-glamorous approach, she wore minimal make-up and dressed as a simple Maharashtrian girl. It worked wonders for her audiences.

7 Khoon Maaf

It’s not everyday you play the lead in a Vishal Bharadwaj movie and trump the other 7 actors in the film. It’s not everyday you act out the lifespan of a character on celluloid. Except, of course, if you’re Priyanka Chopra. We had barely recovered from watching her play 12 characters in What’s Your Rashee? when she tempted us with Suzanna’s seven shades in 7 Khoon Maaf. To date, it remains one of her most impressive performances.
