Following in the footsteps of his fellow designers from Delhi – like Rohit Bal, Manish Arora and Rajesh Pratap Singh – designer Manav Gangwani has also opened his own boutique at Delhi’s high-end DLF Emporio Mall.
To create a perfect backdrop for his elaborate creations, the theme for this boutique has been chosen keeping in mind a contemporary yet classic form. Inspired by grottos, a dramatic cave like space has been created. The architectural expression is theatrical rather than just being a decorative experience. Swarovski elements have always been an integral part of Manav Gangwani’s iconic couture pieces and this passion also finds expression in the installation on the walls – titled Social Butterfly. Eye catching butterflies delightfully encrusted with Swarovski elements in the color of the season sets the mood for playful glamour.
And in true Manav Gangwani style, the opening party was all about flash, glitter and Bollywood babes.
The designer had especially flown-in his favourite muses from Mumbai like Soha Ali Khan, Zayed Khan, Sophie Chowdhury and Raveena Tandon for the opening.
Raveena Tandon looked ravishing, as usual. The lady is always well-dressed and could give actresses half her age, a run for their money.
Soha made an appearance with boyfriend Kunal Khemu and while we loved his casual-chic look (reminiscent of rocker Pete Doherty), Soha’s blue dress, though lovely, made her look far too old. Falling below her knees, it gave her a very middle-aged look. And her plain black footwear didn’t help either!
On the other hand, Natasha Khan looked stunning in a blue and white one-shoulder mini dress while husband Fardeen Khan looked like a spitting image of his father Feroze, when he was the same age.
But it was Zayed Khan who looked cool and comfortable, dressed perfectly for the sweltering Delhi heat.
Dressed in a white shirt, white pant and white shoes with a grey jacket, Zayed cut quite the dapper figure. We like!
Also spotted was Ajitabh Bachchan’s wife, Ramola Bachchan. She chose to go chic in a simple black top and trousers, accessorized with a denim jacket (in the heat?) and lovely orange nail polish. Adding to the over-all style effect was her lovely brown belt and bag.
About the clothes, we’re told that “Exquisite style and elegance is reflected,” through Manav’s new collection. This collection comprises of a wide range of innovative saris and stunning blouses artfully draped anarkalis, novel suits, scintillating gowns and gorgeous lehengas, amongst a host of spectacular creations to choose from. Lavishly embellished with Swarovski Elements each piece in this collection is an exquisite work of art, an amalgamation of romanticism and glamour.
A must-visit on your next trip to Delhi!
