Lakmé Fashion Week is just a couple of weeks away now, and that means time for us bloggers to figure out just what we’re going to do and wear to survive it! Ask any blogger and he/she will tell you that having to update/publish (not to forget edit pics and video) on our Facebook, Twitter and blogs while juggling the shows, backstage action, parties and celebrity spotting can be pretty tough on us both mentally as well as physically. Keeping this in mind I put together a little post of what I think you need to survive fashion week!

The Boot and Clog Effect

Boot and Clog Effect

Boots with big block heels and clogs are some of the comfiest yet fiercest shoes out there at the moment. Not only do they add that bit of chunky edge to your legs, but the sturdy heel keeps you comfortable all through out the day. Also for those shorter girls like myself, these heels tend to be higher than most, so you don’t get lost in a crowd of tall models!
Fashion tip: wear with short denim shorts, mini skirts or skinny jeans to get that long leg look.

Energy Drinks and Coffee

Caffeine you just can’t live without it, especially on those last two days, when posts and video editing has driven you to the brink of exhaustion. That is when Redbull and espresso shots become your best friends. You’ll know where to find a blogger on the last day of fashion week, we’ll be huddle around the energy drink fridge, fighting over or sharing the last can!

The Up-Top Knot

Forget about going to the salon for perfect hair, in fashion the messier the better. From the street to the runways, the up top knot is the easiest and fast becoming the coolest hair style there is. This is good news especially since the humidity is not a friend to my hair, and I can’t help but have the frizzies! All you need for this look is a scrunchie and great leave in conditioner.

The Pleated Skirt

A blast from the past in the most nostalgic way possible, the pleated skirt, whether your mother has one in her closet from her hay day, or an old school uniform. It’s time to bring pleats and what my mother affectionately calls tricel-fabric back. Whether you opt for mini, midi or maxi lengths have fun with these skirts, make them the show stopper of your entire look. Besides just think about how pretty they look when running from the front row to the media room.

Gadgets and Their Chargers

Gadgets

No blogger will leave their house without their laptop, camera and smart phones. All these gadgets run out of battery especially after copious amounts of typing, texting and ‘where are we doing lunch’ calls. I”m always looking for a free wall socket to plug in my laptop which somehow is always on the brink of shutting down. Tip for new bloggers, mark off your space in the media center in the morning, that way you’ll have a nice cozy space to come back to once your done watching the shows!
