Just when we thought we’d seen all of Bollywood flaunting their best on the ramp at the IIJW shows over the past five days, the Gitanjali Group hosted an evening called the Ticket to Bollywood at the Leela Hotel in Mumbai. This too, was a mega starry event which – yet again – witnessed the coming together of the who’s who of Bollywood to grace the ramp in creations by famed designers.

A mélange of entertainment, fashion and jewellery, the evening saw some of Bollywood’s biggest stars like Bipasha Basu, Riya Sen, Neha Dhupia, Raima Sen, Prachi Desai and stalwarts including Sanjay Dutt & Manyata, Ajay Devgan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Fardeen Khan amongst others, wow the audiences as they sashayed down the ramp flaunting creations designed especially for the occasion by eminent designers including like Nisha Sagar and Vikram Phadnis! Expectedly, the eclectic ensembles were enhanced by jewelry pieces by Gitanjali.

Of course, there were many live performances too. How can a show of this scale have only fashion, right? And so, as Sanjay Dutt unveiled Raghav Sachar’s new album Set The Fire, actresses Surveen Chawla, Preeti Jhangiani and Riya Sen danced to the tunes of chart-busting music from Bollywood including Mahiya Mahiya, Raat Ke Dhai Baje, Dum Maro Dum and Senorita
