Hot on the heels of the IIJW fashion shows was the Swarovski Zirconia show held at the Renaissance Hotel in Powai, Mumbai, last night. The famed brand of crystal jewelry and artifacts has introduced a line of Indian jewelry called Passionate India by Swarovski.
Divided into three themes of Fantasy, Fiction and Luminescence, the jewelry is Indian in spirit and design. There’s a lot of intricate filigree work and enough of sparkling crystal to leave you bedazzled.
The show was directed and choreographed by ace choreographer Achla Sachdev and it had five lovely Bollywood beauties as show stoppers for various sequences – Celina Jaitly, Tanisha Mukherjee, Giselli Monteiro, Urvashi Sharma and Shriya Saran.
Achla even got Shriya Saran – who is trained in kathak dance – to do a few dance poses on the ramp, much to the delight of the audience.
The costumes for the show were designed and styled by star designer Swapnil Shinde and also by Archana Kochhar.
The outfit which Celina wore was out of this world – literally! The skirt was designed and produced by Gold Plus brand of Titan Industries Ltd which is made with Swarovski Zirconia. It was a huge hoop-skirt embellished with Swarovski brooches that were in the shape of sea creatures like dolphins, jellyfish, starfish and octopus. It even had sea-shells with pearls in them embroidered on to the skirt. The border of the skirt was decorated with Swarovski bangles. Very classy, indeed!
Models who walked the ramp included the stunning Shruti Aggarwal, ex Miss India Parvathy Omanakuttan, Alesia Raut and Bigg Boss inmate Hrishant Goswami – who was the only male model in the show.
In the audience were M.P Priya Dutt (who was the Chief Guest), jewelry designer Queenie Singh with boyfriend Farhad Taraporewalla, actress Kajol and her mother Tanuja. Expectedly, the mother-daughter team clapped the loudest when Tanisha walked the ramp.
